Nakumatt has shut down almost four branches in Nairobi and Kiambu alone. The Nakmatt holdings which own Nakmatt supermarket has issued a statement saying that they have failed to resolve the economic turmoil in the holdings.

The Buildings that were used by Nakumatt are being taken over by another Giant french company called Carrefour. The Carrefour limited will be reinstating the Nakumatt Junction and the TRM.

Carrefour to Open 3rd Store in Kenya at Thika Road Mall (TRM), To fill the gap left by troubled Nakumatt Supermarkets and a fourth branch at the Nakunmatt Junction.

Nakmatt accuses the Junction Mall owners of illegally shutting down its branch, says it will take action to protect its legal rights. According to the agreement signed by the two parties, the owners are taking advantage of the situation to get a better deal with the Carrefour limited.

Next Month, the French retailer Carrefour will open more branches in Kenya to cover the gap left by Nakumatt in the towns that the winding up retail giant operates.
