The Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho with his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi has today officially launched the bid for Coast region sucession.  The duo said they also welcomed the Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana and Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja in the official launch but sent representatives.

The first meeting was held by the four governor last week where they agreed to join hands in the fight of the sucession as the region has to allot of resources but its natives are rendered poor by the presidential regimes.

Hassan Joho clarified that secession is not happening now nor tomorrow but the press conference is the green light to start putting in place the right structures and the right processes to lead secession.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi have this afternoon issued a statement that the Coast region will start the process of secession from the Republic of Kenya.

"Today the coast political leadership has held a consultative meeting in which it has been resolved to initiate the process of self-determination of the coastal peoples using all legal means, both local and international." Hassan Joho said.

"We wish to state that since independence, successive governments have marginalized and to date continue to marginalize and oppress our people. Therefore, such governments have no moral authority to govern us. It is no longer feasible for us as a people to continue in a country that does not recognize our aspirations as legitimate." Amason Kingi added.

"We, therefore, wish to announce the beginning of the consultative process towards secession of the Coast region," Joho added.

In the short statement, the Governors said they have consulted and will continue to consult with lead constitutional experts on the matter in both local and international laws to guide the process.

The process was started by the Kilifi North MP Owen Baya with the help of representatives from other Coastal regions representatives. The move has been seen by foreigners as Kenya will go in the Yugoslavia way soon if the Politics in the country will not change.

They have also said that other leaders will lead a grassroots campaign to reach out to Kenyans and seek their opinion on the matter. The dialogue will involve all interest groups including youths, women, religious groups, NGOs and stakeholders in the Coast region.

For those who doubt this movement!! Take a journey through the world history. Start with Europe, then the USA and Africa. Succession is a movement whose time has come and must be addressed by those in-power (oppressor) while there is time is now, otherwise, once succession train hits the tracks Kenya will be no more.
