Handshake for uniting the country has gone sour. The sweet handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Rt Raila Odinga has gone sour following the disagreement on the referendum issue.

Rt Raila Odinga and his team wanted to change the constitution to accommodate the Prime Minister position with most powers and adopt the parliamentary system rather than the presidential system.

According to our insiders, the unity between the two political giants has shaken following the introduction of a mediator between the president, Deputy and the Baringo senator Gideon Moi.

The proposed referendum will be in August this year. According to the special parliamentary committee, the proposed referendum budget will be from the 2018/2019 budget,  as indicated by the committee.
