The battle to inherit the Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Kilifi governor Amason Kingi have started with prospects across the respective counties. Though the targeted leaders have not spoken out officially and publicly on their missions to take over the incumbents.

ODM youths in Malindi demonstrated calling the MP Aisha Jumwa to recall the history with ODM before engaging with the Deputy President Willaim Ruto.  The group led by Leah Akech one of the ODM officials in Malindi said, Hon. Jumwa has betrayed the party by inviting DP William Ruto and Dancing with him for the 2022 DPs' presidential bid.

Last Month, the Mombasa governor welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta during the official opening of the Dongo Kundu by-pass and the upgraded Mombasa-Changamwe- Airport road where the Governor cited to fully support President Uhuru Kenyatta big four agenda in his county despite their differences and wrangles.

Kisauni Mp Ali Mbogo expressed interest for the top gubernatorial seat in Mombasa in 2022. The Mombasa residents also expressed their interest for the Mvita Mp Abdulswamad Nassir to go for the seat as the best fit.

The battle continued to Kilifi where the community has extended a wishful hand to the Malindi mp Aisha Jumwa to inherit the current governor Amason Kingi. Kilifi North MP Owen Baya has expressed an interest for that top seat as well.

Hon. Aisha Jumwa in making great things happen in Malindi it will be her measure for the top seat coming 2022 as the community suggest. Mega projects have been launched including the MERE international stadium, girls national school, Malindi multi-million education centre, upgrading of Malindi football clubs, Agricultural activities and empowering women across the constituency etc
