The Mombasa Governor has changed focus from Politics to Developments regardless of the negative thoughts tossed by the Jubilee leaders. The Governor has been seen pushing and criticising the Government following a one-time closure of his businesses and security withdrawal.

Following the threats made by the government of cracking Drug barons and Suppliers through the Coast region Coordinator Nelson Marwa, the Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho took a stand that he is not involved in that business. He said, "I'm not involved in that business and if they think I'm doing that business let them come and arrest me. They are the ones involved in the business, let them clean their houses first, we are only dealing with addicts. I have fought that disease, building rehabilitation centres all over the County."

Two more Governments are interested in investing in Mombasa apart from the Iranian government. The Mombasa county governor urged his residence to support him in the coming elections as he needs to finish his projects and vie for presidency coming 2022.
