A fresh attack by banditry in Turkana-Pokot border. Hundreds of people have fled the area after fresh attacks that left two herders dead with their children injured at Lami Nyeusi and more than 400 livestock stolen.


according to the west Pokot County Commissioner, Khalif Abdullahi, the bandits hold hostage the herders first before killing them and injure the children.  The county commissioner said that more police officers have been deployed to control the situation in the area.


Wilson Lonoki, head teacher at Sarmach Primary school said that the perpetual cattle rustling has changed the education sector as Kambi Karaya and Nasolot nursery schools have  been closed for years.



The Ministry of interior security has deployed more officers to back up the officers who were directed by the Pokot commissioner.  People are now fearing their lives following the banditry. The people now stay in the forests and others move to other counties.
