The IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said that the nomination deadline has not been changed. The chairman urged that the parties will only submit their members or aspirants on 26th April 2017. Jubilee party is under pressure following commissions deadline while they have postponed the Nairobi primaries to the same deadline day.

Jubilee’s Central and Rift Valley strongholds experienced hitches in the delivery of materials, as some places, including Ruiru, which is a few kilometres from JP headquarters, only managed to get ballot papers at about noon.

The are few logistics hitches in some parts of Rift Valley and Central as some materials was dispatched yesterday. In Nyandarua, the rain has made it difficult to reach some polling stations.

“I want to appeal to supporters and aspirants to be patient; keep your attention on the timetable as it may change since we are dealing with a fluid situation, because of the amount of pressure to meet the deadline on Wednesday,” said Mr Tuju.

“We know this is painful for our aspirants because it is taking a lot of their time and resources. We are doing all the best we can to deliver credible primaries that give everybody a chance.”Tuju added.

The process has not started in some areas in Central by noon. Some polling stations missed ballot papers and as well register mix up. The president assured jubilee supporters that the process will run smoothly but it seems like there is internal sabotage.
