The Kisumu and Siaya ODM polls were postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The Kisumu polls had some allegations that some aspirants were already marking ballot papers and claims of rigging elections.


According to the statements given by the ODM National Elections Board chairperson Judy Pareno, the primaries will now be conducted on April 25. In the statement sent to the newsrooms, She said, "The board regrets any inconveniences caused to aspirants and supporters."

"The exercise, however, proceeds without alteration in Migori and Homa Bay,"





Nominated MP Oburu Oginga, Governor Cornel Rasanga, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi and Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo are eying seats in the nominations.

Oburu, Raila’s elder brother, will contest it with Gideon Ochanda for Bondo MP.



Rasanga is facing off with Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo, former PS Carey Orege and businessman William Oduol.



Midiwo, who is National Assembly deputy minority leader and Raila’s cousin, is running against management consultant Elisha Odhiambo.


In Homa Bay, Governor Cyprian Awiti will battle it out with former NIS chief of finance director Sam Wakiaga and Kasipul MP Oyugi Magwanga.

The Hollywood Movie actress endorses his father for the gubernatorial race. According to her, he has raised them in a good way and he loves people and hates poverty. By electing him, Kisumu will have a descriptive change.  



The tough ODM nominations will be between the two people in Kisumu. Governor Jack Ranguma and Prof Peter Anyang Nyong'o have been in ODM for long and both are allies of the ODM leader Raila Odinga. The two will battle it out for the gubernatorial position, Nyong'o is the incumbent senator.
