Mombasa residents have been told to keep their residential areas clean as there is a cholera outbreak in the county. Several children have been identified to be suffering from Cholera. 5 children were reported to have symptoms of cholera at Mlaleo Dispensary and 3 at Likoni. 4 Children were taken to Coast General for further treatment.

People have been urged to observe cleanness in their places of cooking, using clean utensils, washing hands after visiting the toilet, flies free houses and report any case of Vomiting and diarrhea.



Several children have been identified to be suffering from Cholera in Mombasa and Nairobi as others admitted in the level 5 hospitals.


The rains that have been consistent at the coast are claimed to be the source of the Cholera. People are advised not to buy food on the roads as there are so many flies and the vendors do not practice good hygiene.


The outbreak also is in Nairobi. Most parts in the slums have been affected. The meteorological department has said that brains will be on until the end of this month. People are expected to exercise a high level of hygiene to mitigate the fast spreading disease.
