The energy regulatory commission(ERC) has today increased the OIL prices because of the global market price. The increase will make the price of Petroleum products increased by 5 percent.


The prices will be effective from today midnight. The price of Petrol will increase between 50 cents and a shilling country wide.
In Nairobi, a litre of super petrol will retail at Sh 100, Kerosene at Sh 65.28 and Diesel at Sh88.05.

In Mombasa, a litre of super petrol will retail at Sh96.32, Kerosene Sh62.52 and Diesel at Sh84.79.

In Kisumu, a litre of super petrol will retail Sh101.57, Kerosene Sh67.22, and Diesel at Sh 90.23.

"The changes of this months prices are as a consequence of the landed cost of imported Super Petrol," Director General Mueni Mutunga said.

The prices are expected to rise again in the next months due to global fluctuations. People are expected to cough more for products that depend on petroleum products. People who depend on Kerosene in their household will have to add a shilling on the product per litre and is expected to be increased starting from next month.
