Senator Omar Hassan picks a hotelier, Ms Linda Shuma as his Mombasa gubernatorial race running mate

The Mombasa senator Omar Hassan officially launched his bid for the gubernatorial race in Mombasa yesterday. The aspiring governor who wants to unseat the incumbent Hassan Ali Joho revealed his running mate to the tough race.

Omar Hassan Sarai picked a hotelier Linda Shuma, 39 years old as his running mate to face off the incumbent. This comes after the Nyali Mp Hezron Awiti ditched wiper because of what he allegedly "Wiper discrimination."

The wiper secretary general will be competing with his NASA coalition counterpart ODM deputy party leader Ali Joho. The NASA fraternity failed to reach consensus on who to carry the flag in the gubernatorial race.


Omar Hassan has recently been in an exchange of words with the governor concerning developments and leadership in the county. The race will also attract the Mombasa tycoon and jubilee candidate Suleiman Shahbaal in 8th of August.

The launch was witnessed by several people and stakeholders in the Hotel and Tourism industry.  Picking a hotelier will at least bring hope to the diminishing industry along the Coast.
