Raila Odinga has been in the US for almost two weeks now. He visited several institutions in the US where he was given chance of explaining leadership in Africa and what happens now in African democracy.

"The political standoff will be well on course to resolution once all stakeholders are well informed of its underlying issues," Odinga said.

"It was a pleasure to meet a delegation from the International Republican Institute (IRI) led by President Daniel Twining. Also present was Delaware Senator Chris Coons."

"We held a very candid and productive discussion that centered on the Kenyan political situation with particular emphasis on threats to democracy, constitutionalism and the rule of law. The role credible elections play towards the stability of any nation’s democracy was discussed at length."

"Our coalition maintains that justice must be done in Kenya for our people through the conduction of free and fair elections as ordered by the Supreme Court," he stated.

He visited both houses in the US government both the senate and lower congress where he outlined the reasons why African democracy is on its knees.

He will get back to the country with his fellow principals; Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka who are in Germany attending Pauline Musyoka who was admitted to a Germany hospital.
