Kenyatta university main Campus has been closed indefinitely following yesterday night riots. The student burned a school hall and kitchen citing that they were not ready to sit for an exam.


They were seeking the removal of Acting Vice-Chancellor is Professor Paul Wainaina as he pushed for agendas and his people during students elections. The students said that the top officials of the school have been siphoning cash for personal gains.



They also had other concerns of insecurity in the campus. They were protesting the killing of female colleague allegedly by boda-boda operators and the suspension of students elections.



The body of the student was found dumped on a road aside near MK area.

The students have been ordered to vacate the hostels by 9 am Friday.



On Wednesday, the institution announced the deferment of academic programs over the ongoing lectures strike.


They wrote a letter to the education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang but all went in Vain. They decided to take action so that the government through the Education ministry could hear their grievances.
