The Nyanza Governors have come together and provided a solution to the problems facing the region. They have said that the region is bigger than Israel or Palestine so they decided to start a secession bid. The Kisumu Governor Prof Peter Anyang with his Homabay counterpart Cyprian Awiti spoke with one voice of secession.

Coast region led by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho are also pushing for Coast region division according to the 50 years Oman Sultan agreement with Kenya's first President Jomo Kenyatta.  The Western leaders have been also brought into the sucession talks if they will need to combine Nyanza and Western and leave the rest into Kenya.

The Constitution allows for secession if the people feel not included in the government. The people's assembly county bid has already been passed and signed by the Governor at the Homabay county assembly. It has become the first county assembly to pass the bill. The bill will enable people to gather and prepare for any action against the government as they do not recognize Uhuru Kenyatta as the President of Kenya.

Governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa) and Amason Kingi (Kilifi) on Friday said Coast people are tired of being marginalized and now want self-rule.

“They did not speak as Coast leaders. They spoke as ODM and NASA leaders. In the meeting, there was no other leader from other parties apart from those in NASA.” A Jubilee official from the Coast said.

Both Governors who are pushing for secession are from the NASA coalition. The sucession row is brewing at the Coast and Nyanza regions. Suba MP John Mbadi and Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo have come together with their respective governors to push for secession.
