Blow to Wajir governor Mohamed Abdi Mahamud as the university he claimed to attend reject his papers termed them illegal.  The university has now written to the CoG indicating that the governor has not stepped in their university.

Governor Mohamed Abdi Mahamud has a chance to prove that he holds two degrees as the Supreme Court has allowed him to table the certificates.

In a ruling last week, seven judges of the court agreed that Mr Mahamud was not given a fair hearing at both the trial and appellate courts with regard to his academic qualifications.

“It is in this breath that we must consider whether the appellant’s right to a fair hearing and trial will be infringed upon by the denial of admission of new evidence,” the judges said.

Yesterday Kampala University Senate denied claims that the Governor studied in its University in Uganda. The Senate wrote a letter dismissing the Governors claims of studying in the University to EACC and CoG.

"We are highly disturbed with the increased rate of false claims from Kenya that majority of the Politicians came to study here. We are acknowledging the way the Kenyan courts are scrutinizing academic papers presented by Politicians."  Says the Senate
