Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has introduced new sports and recreational areas. The governor is constructing 3 FIFA standard football which will benefit the idle and jobless youths so that they engage themselves in empowering and nurturing talents.

The stadium, which is a 12,000-seater, will mainly serve as a sports ground for local football.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was impressed with the ongoing projects both Mombasa and Nairobi for empowering and growing talents for youths as it is in the vision 2030 and the f four pillars of the developing agenda.

"Once complete, the FIFA-standard stadium is qualified to host international matches, Kenyan Premier League matches, Nationwide league matches, and other major football tournaments, " H.E Sonko said.

"We expect the many idle youths in the area to use the facility to develop their sporting skills. Idleness is a dangerous thing for the youth," he added.

The governor said one pitch is almost complete. He added that President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto will launch it before the end of the year at embakasi. The targeted area includes Embakasi, Kibera, and Imara.
