Kenya National Bureau of Statistics(KNBS) says it's now ready for the census exercise. They are expecting to cover 100 percent of the population in Kenya on 24th August 2019.


KNBS director Mr. Zakary Mwangi said this years' Census will be different compared to the past censuses conducted.


"All arms of government are working together to ensure the exercise is conducted smoothly," Mwangi said.


"2700 ICT supervisors, 27,000 content supervisors, and 135,000 enumerators are supposed to make the process smoothly. The Training of ICT supervisors is over. Next week we will embark on content Supervisors and then later enumerators. " Planning principal secretary Saitoti Torome said.


164,700 are the data capture devices which cost Ksh. 15,000 assembly at Moi University and JKUAT. The census exercise will be 100 percent digital.
