Big blow to DCI and DPP after a Nairobi court blocked assets repossession.  City tycoon Humphrey Kariuki a director of Janus continental group resigned after facing Ksh. 41Billion Tax evasion case.

The Nairobi Court on Thursday extended orders barring the government from detaining all movable assets of wanted billionaire Humphrey Kariuki.

In the ruling, Nairobi Chief Magistrate Caroline Nzibe further directed that assets attached to African spirits and WoW beverages Limited not be detained pending hearing and determination of the case.

Humphrey Kariuki owns over 100 high-end vehicles and a five-star hotel in Nanyuki. It's also revealed that he owned real estate investments in London, UK.

Recovering the assets owned by Kariuki and the company hit the wall as the court blocks DPP and DCI order if freezing the accounts and assets recovery by the security organs.
