Ladies from Hamar community in Ethiopia are the most patient ladies across the world. This is according to a Canadian Researcher Tommy Abrams.

Before marriage, a lady will undergo several steps. There will be a month for husband preparations. Ladies taught how to prepare their husband on different occasions.

Another month is given to individuals called a month for herself. A month for making herself appeal most to her husband. This month, the lady is taught how to have better bedroom matters.

A month to the marriage, she has to receive 40 strokes. She has to be beaten by the elders 40 times with heavy strokes which symbolizes pain, grief, hard times and sorrowful times in Marriage.

Located among the bush-covered hills on the eastern side of the Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia, the Hamar tribe have unique culture and customs, one of them being a cattle-jumping ceremony where the beatings occur.

"She has also to be tested in happy moments. Several men always accompany, cook for her and the husband accompany her to bed for a week, " an elder explained.

When the lady the passes such tests then she is ready to get married. It's only the ladies who persevere such terms are termed successful and respected in the Hamar Community.
