Luo community elders want rituals to be done at late governor Joyce Laboso. The husband to the late Joyce Laboso Edwin Abonyo declined to perform the rituals.

Luo elders yesterday shocked the family of Edwin Abonyo after they demanded to perform rituals to the late Governor Joyce Laboso.

" According to Dhuluo culture, any leader from our community, either by birth or marriage, rituals have to be performed. Dead people need rituals to appease them. Our son needs to do such rituals to avoid family problems and bad omen, " the elders said.

Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso will be buried in her husband Edwin Abonyo's rural home in Koru, Kisumu county.

What's the importance of performing rituals to a dead person? What are the rituals? How are they done to the dead person to please him or her?
