Kizurini Police in Kaloleni sub-county, Kilifi County are investigating a case in which a 65-year-old woman was found murdered and raped in a bush in the Kilonga area, Mwanamwinga, Kaloleni.
According to local chief Joseph Kapalia, the woman, named Sidi Chonya Lewa, has been found raped and dead by neighbors. The area chief said police will launch a manhunt of the perpetrators added that those found to be involved will be taken into custody.
Viragoni Assistant chief Gabron Kadekile has condemned the killing and urged residents to provide information on the murder. The victim's body was taken to a Kilifi County Mortuary.
Kilifi county old women rape cases are on the rise after a couple of elders were raped this year in Malanga, Ganze Sub-county.
