Kilifi county vehicle nabbed for transporting large amounts of Cash by Police at Gede. The county car was stopped by Police after people alerted the police over huge sums of cash staked in the car.
20Million was recovered, reflectors associated with by-election and shirts. It seems the stuff was to be distributed in Ganda ward and the said official was arrested by Police and detained at Malindi police station. He was released today morning following a higher level directive.
According to the sources, half of the money was to finance the Ganda Ward by-election and the rest for financing Malindi and Magarini community groups and initiatives.
Police warned county officials over transporting huge amounts of cash in their cars without informing the police for an escort service.
