Nairobi court charged a man who hacked a Family bank in Nairobi. The Man gained access to the bank network and the devices only to be intercepted by the network administrators at the bank.

Geoffrey Oduor Ojow alias Jojo Odukuzi alias Jeff Mzee, an alleged hacker, was charged with unauthorized access to computer data contrary to the law.

The court heard that Mr Oduor – on diverse dates between November 1, 2018, and January 20, 2019 — unlawfully remotely gained access to Family Bank Limited networks systems thereby infringing their information security measures.

Police were informed on the bank hacking activity. He was traced and arrested at his home in Umoja.

Appearing before Milimani Law Courts Magistrate Zainab Abdul, Mr Oduor pleaded not guilty to the charges, further praying for leniency in granting bail/bond terms. He was released on a cash bail of Ksh.300,000 with an alternative bond of Ksh.500,000.

Mr Geoffrey was released after paying the cash bail. He was freed and warned against repeating the same activity.
