Mt Kenya Television owned by the Kirinyaga Women Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici has now reached its Menopause after the Workers went on a go slow. It happens after the employees have been working without a penny for the past for four months. Their last salary was the end of March 2019.
Speaking with the Television Presenters who even some shed tears, they slammed the management for deliberately not paying them despite huge deals with the company.
"There are deals with Kapchoria tea, Nairobi homes, Safaricom etc we have been working hard as well to get things done. The problem is on salaries." A TV reporter said.
The Mt Kenya TV and Iganjo FM which are owned by the family of Kirinyaga Woman Rep Wangui Ngirici and her billionaire husband Andrew Ngirichi who are the directors of Slopes Media LTD.
Andrew Ngirici is a relative, some say, son, of former billionaire James Kanyotu who served as Special Branch (now National Intelligence Service) boss.
A source who has sought anonymity has said that they were promised heaven little to realize that their destiny to hell was being “cooked”.
Some of the reporters who had made a name while working with the former employer are reported to have left the former stations( Kimadharau ) as they were promised double of their salary.
It is reported that the Ngirici family has invested over Ksh600 million for this multimedia business.
"I was approached by the politician to help him rebrand the station, the payment was good and I couldn’t resist, not that things are bad here but the competition is pushing us to the corner," the DJ Cremes' friend said.
The employee said they were conned by the Kirinyaga Women Representative who was allover with choppers during the 2017 general elections.
"This county is blessed with corrupt leaders especial the women." Kamau Kirimi a businessman at Mwea said.
The presenters who the Ngirici family poached them had stable life especial those from Royal Media Services. The Women Representative lured and conned only to dump them after milking Millions from advertisers and the employees.
" I have no intention of closing the media house. It's our business and it will remain. We are in talks with the employees and soon everything will be back to normal." Kirinyaga Women Rep said.
"We had a problem with immediate management. There was a misuse of funds in the company and we had to stop for a while as we restructure the management, " she added.
Bana sources revealed that some presenters had lost their marriages after domestic violence over bills pays.
