Just some days after President Uhuru Kenyatta toured Lamu county, opened doors for the county through funds directed to the completion of LAPSSET, construction of a modern oil refinery and oil pipeline from Turkana to Lamu, Deputy President William Ruto is opening doors in the neighbouring county, Tana River.



The deputy president inspected an ongoing construction(expansion) of Garsen- Hola road. He inspected an ongoing survey that will construct to the construction of a bypass from Garsen to Mpeketoni.



He also launched projects of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) women and youth project, Garsen, Tana River County. Where 500 motorbikes(bodaboda), 1000 sewing machines and  100 refrigerators were given to the youths(youth groups).



"Bodaboda will help you with your daily activities which are a source of income. Fishing is also a good business in the county as I was told by the governor Dhadho Godhana, these refrigerators will help you preserve fish and do your business," DP William Ruto said.




"Enhancing women's participation and decision-making in socio-economic life and creating opportunities for decent work will advance their families' fortunes, " he said.


Deputy President William Ruto also opened a modern Livestock market in Mandingo Livestock Market, Kipini, Tana River Country.



" Improved livestock management and proper animal husbandry ensure quality products, including milk, meat, leather, and manure that boosts soil fertility, " he said.



The industry provides employment; increases the earning power of farmers and contributes to food security.
