Housing finance Group on Thursday launched a WhatsApp banking service, making it the first bank in the region to commercially go live with this product. 


 The bank partnered with cloud communication firm Infobip, Wayawaya, Kocela and Myriad to roll out the l product to its existing and new customers. 


The clients will not only talk to bank officials but also they will be able to open a bank account, access statements and borrow loans.



 " A highly popular messaging platform with millions of active users in Kenya, WhatsApp unlocks an opportunity for us to offer our customers a more personal, intuitive and efficient way to engage with them on chat, " the Housing Finance bank group CEO Robert Kibaara said.



The Housing finance bank despite suffering a huge loss this year, the bank has targeted SME's and expanded mortgages products to suit everybody in need.
