Parents in Langobaya Division in Malindi wants schools around to be supplied with ARVs.The Parents said HIV infection in the schools has increased rapidly despite measures taken by the County.


Parents from Langobaya Primary and Secondary, Pishi Mwenga primary, Makobeni and schools around called upon the Ministry of healthy in Kilifi county to provide ARVs to the schools.



One of the parents from Langobaya primary said the schools around has a big number of HIV infections. According to the teachers in those areas, they have accepted that the HIV infection rate in the area has increased and fast measures should be taken to restraint the peril.


" We want the respective departments to supply drugs to the affected. It will be a good idea to provide condoms too. We have little boys and girls from as low as the age of 12 years infected, " a parent said who sought anonymity.


However, the parents directed Education officials in the division to come up with educative strategies or techniques to equip the students in such a calamity.
