FAO donates Agricultural equipments to Kilifi county. PHOTO | MM


Kilifi county receives agricultural tools from the world food organization and Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) to help county residents increase yields.


Through the department of Agriculture received equipment from FAO through "Increased Productivity and Profitability-Good Agricultural Practice (IPP-GAP) assets handing over ceremony presided over by the County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture Hon Luciana Sanzua together with Mr. Charles Wathome from the European Union and Mr. Charles Bebay from the Food and Agriculture Organisation. 



So far, more than 11,000 farmers from 516 groups and 100 county extension officers have been trained on Conservation Agriculture and good agricultural practices. We have also distributed 52 tons of fertiliser and 3 tons of assorted certified seeds to Conservation Agriculture farmers countrywide. Moreover, 2 tractor-drawn no-till planters, 7 animal-drawn no-till planters, 50 jab planters, 20 animal-drawn rippers and sub-soilers and 200 shallow weeders have been provided.
