Tana River county leads in defilement and Rape cases. The county registers between 10-15 cases every week in different support centers, Police Stations and Hospitals.
Last week alone 10 people were raped in Holla. According to the management at Holla County and referral hospital, the cases have increased this year compared to the last year 2018.
" Parents should be extra- careful about where the children play and places they visit, " she said.
The county has registered more than 500 cases in 2019. The county government has established more centers where such cases should be reported.
" Police should also act fast. The courts have been derailing the processes. A case takes almost 5 months to be completed. We take over 30 cases to courts every month, " Dr. Ralia added.
