Half of the Nairobi county MCA are plotting to impeach County speaker Beatrice Elachi citing failure in the county activities.
Nairobi MCAs who are pushing for a special sitting to be held have since deferred their push to the first week of January next year after Speaker Beatrice Elachi failed to convene a sitting last week as requested by Minority Leader David Mberia.
According to Speaker Elachi, she has been waiting for an advisory opinion from the Attorney General on the State of affairs after Governor Mike Sonko, who has been without a deputy for close to two years now and was recently barred from accessing his office over a corruption case.
The MCAs are said to have collected 82 signatures from the county assembly which are sufficient to impeach Mrs. Elachi at the beginning of the year 2020.
