Al-Shabaab attack a bus from Mombasa heading to Lamu at Nyangoro

A Simba coach bus from Mombasa heading to Lamu was attacked and hijacked at the Nyangoro area, Lamu county by suspected Al-Shabaab terrorists.

Other buses that were attacked but not hijacked include Mombasa Raha, and Tawakal. These buses were sprayed with bullets.

Lamu county commissioner Irungu Macharia confirmed the incident but he did not disclose the casualties as the operation is underway.

Kenya Defense forces together with Kenya Wildlife Service have been deployed in the Area in such for the bus.

"I will provide more information about the incident after we found the bus and verify the number of people held, " the county commissioner said.
