KDF has confirmed that four terrorists have been killed after an attempted breach of security at Manda Airstrip in Lamu county which is next to a US naval base called Camp Simba.
The Alshabaab fighters wiped out by KDF after their attempt to attack the base through the airstrip foiled.
KDF said that the airstrip is safe and that they have successfully repulsed the attempted security breach.
The military base is said to be hosting hundreds of US and Kenyan soldiers.
A fire broke out affecting some of the fuel tanks located at the airstrip. The fire has been put under control and standard security procedures are now ongoing.
