Lamu transport troubles continue after more soldiers were deployed in the county.

The Security heads in Lamu have declared a strict curfew stopping all transport vessels from operating at night following recent terror attacks in the region.

The curfew will begin at 10 PM to 4 AM daily and will allow security agencies in the area to monitor suspicious activity with ease.

The move is set to affect all cars, motorbikes and sea-faring vessels which will be required to cease operation during curfew.

Lamu County police boss Muchangi Kioi noted that in addition to the curfew, all vehicles transporting goods to Lamu would be subject to a thorough police search at the Mokowe Jetty. Lamu County Commissioner Irungu Macharia echoed the statements
