Miguna Miguna coming back to Kenya on 7th January 2020 is hyped. Lobby groups are seeking free entry of Miguna to Kenya as his birthright.
The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) and Law Society of Kenya(LSK) moved to court pursuing to halt the government from deterring with the Miguna Miguna return to Kenya on January 7, 2020.
In the application filed at Milimani Law Courts by his lawyer John Khaminwa, the LSK and KNHCR have been called as interested parties in the backing of Miguna’s re-entry into the country.
Miguna wants to enter Kenya using his Kenyan identity card or passport which was deposited in the Kenyan High Court registry by the government as ruled by the said court.
Miguna Miguna is also seeking an order authorizing the registrar of the High Court to release his passport to KNHCR or his lawyers for his identification at the Immigration Department upon his arrival.
Miguna also wants the court to muster the director of the Immigration Department to show cause why they have refuted him entry despite various court orders issued by Justice Chacha Mwita.
