Lesotho’s prime minister Thomas Motsoahae Thabane has surrendered to the pressure forcing to resign over a proof purportedly linking him to the murder of his estranged wife.

PM Thomas Motsoahae Thabane resignation comes after a series of meeting from activists and citizens across the country that he should resign due to bad governance.

Senior members of the All Basotho Convention (ABC) party have accused PM Thomas Thabane of hampering investigations into the killing.

In June 2017, unidentified assailants gunned down his wife, Lipolelo Thabane, 58, on the outskirts of Lesotho’s capital Maseru, two days before her husband’s inauguration.

The brutal murder was brought back into the limelight last week by a letter from Lesotho’s police chief Holomo Molibeli.
