Raila Odinga meets all Central region governors for BBI. PHOTO | BMS


The Central Region Economic Bloc leaders met with the Former Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga at his Capitol Hill Square offices. The leaders from Mt. Kenya discussed the forthcoming BBI mega rally to be held at Kinoru Stadium in our County on Saturday.


The rally is going to bring together 11 counties from the Mt Kenya Region where the leaders expect over 30 000 people. Led by Meru County Governor Kiraitu Murungi, the leaders said it will be a celebration diverse cultures as BBI propagates for unity and inclusivity.


"This is a journey to a united new Kenya, " It will be one of the biggest BBI rallies so far. "We have started from the grassroots, county and regional consultative meetings. Mt Kenya West will meet in Nyeri on Thursday and Mt Kenya East will meet in Chuka on Wednesday to draft their memoranda, " said Governor Murungi.


"Then we will hold a conference for the 11 counties on Friday at KeMU to draft the final memorandum to be presented on Saturday at the rally to the Chief Guest Rt. Hon. Raila. This will represent the voice of the people of Mt Kenya region, " he added.


The main focus on Saturday will be the memorandum and the leaders cautioned that they don't want sideshows, therefore, call upon Central region people to turn up in large numbers so that their views can be counted in the final BBI report document.


Deputy President William Ruto will be present accompanied by Raila Odinga to grace the rally.
