National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has instructed Education CS George Magoha, IG Hillary Mutyambai and Teachers Service Commission (TSC) CEO Nancy Macharia to emerge in person before the Education Committee over the ongoing teachers’ pressure in North Eastern.

This was after Wajir West MP Mohammed Ahmed Kolosh asked why the TSC has been transferring teachers from the North Eastern Region.

The Member of Parliament wanted to know whether the commission had consulted the police department before making the transfers that have since greatly impaired learning in the region.

“This is a serious matter, I direct that the Cabinet Secretary for Education George Magoha, the Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai, and TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia appear before the Education Committee latest Tuesday next week,” said Muturi, adding that “they must appear in person.”
