Controversial Jubilee Party member David Murathe says that President Uhuru Kenyatta will not be handing power over to a thief in 2022.

He was speaking in Meru during the Central region BBI rally after he was invited to the podium by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“Hatutauziwa uoga, Uhuru hataachia mwizi kiti (we will not succumb to fear, Uhuru will not be leaving power to a thief)” He said.

Mr David Murathe, a harsh critic of Deputy President William Ruto appeared to be hurling shots at Deputy President William Ruto who according to a section of Jubilee legislators, was poised to succeed President Uhuru.

In 2019, Mr  Murathe who resigned from his post claimed he would be starting a movement to make sure Ruto is not elected in 2022. But as of now, no movement has been created.

At the same time, he maintained that the Mt Kenya region does not owe DP Ruto any debt in 2022, saying that President Uhuru had not entered into any memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with his deputy in 2013.
