Peter Munya; New desert locusts spraying vehicles, Japan pesticides and NYS to fight the menace

Agriculture CS Peter Munya visited Kitui and Garissa Counties to check on the desert locust fighting progress.

"  I toured Garissa and Kitui Counties to assess the efficacy of the ongoing efforts to control the invasion of the desert locusts in those areas, " CS said. 

The Government has procured appropriate pesticides from Sumitomo Chemical, Japan, to help in this work.  In support of his war, FAO has pledged to procure spray vehicles for six bases. 

Six regions have been identified for control, where the recently trained personnel from NYS  will be deployed to help in the ground spraying. 

The laudable collaboration between County and National Governments is making the ongoing control of locusts in the country successful.
