COVID-19: Rabai Mp William Kamoti tests Positive as Bank Teller alleged contracted the virus in Kilifi

Bank staff in Kilifi and Rabai Mp William Kamoti test positive of COVID-19.  The two came into contact with Kilifi deputy governor Gideon Saburi. The deputy Governor defied orders to self-quarantine hence spreading the virus massively.

DTB Kilifi branch closed as one teller who is a wife to a Kilifi MCA, both alleged to have turned positive of COVID-19. " The teller has been working and interacting with all team members before being tested, " sources claimed.


Kilifi becomes the hotbed and epicentre of the COVID-19 in Kenya. The government declared five counties; Kilifi, Nairobi, Mombasa, Siaya and Kajiado as Coronavirus HOTSPOTS.


The Rabai Mp Tested positive at Private hospital in Nyali, Premier hospital in Mombasa. The DTB bank staff was tested by the county medical staff in Kilifi.

Four cases from the county are male and  two female cases.


More people in Kilifi are considered to have contracted the virus after another case of 13 police officers including deputy OCS from Mtwapa developed COVID-19 symptoms.


According to the Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, the ministry has deployed additional medics in the county to contain the spread of the virus.


The county government already has taken measures of closing companies, local brewing points(Mangwe) and gatherings.

More than five people from the county have tested positive after coming into contact with the deputy governor Gideon Saburi with his driver after jetting in from Germany.


The entire county leadership is in self-quarantine waiting for their fate in the next consecutive 14 days.


He becomes the first Kenyan mp to contract the coronavirus. Kilifi county records 6 cases of Coronavirus.


The disease has already claimed one person, a 66-year-old Kenyan man in Kenya who was admitted at AgaKhan Hospital and died at Aga Khan Intensive Care Unit.
