President Uhuru Kenyatta on the state of the Nation address at Harambee house 

President warns traders and businesses against hoarding goods and increasing prices. Competition authority officials have been directed to going around looking for businesses that increase their prices.


 Businessmen who will increase the price of basic commodities to take advantage of the situation will be arrested and charged.



“We will not entertain hoarding or raising the prices of commodities…serious and severe action will be taken against anybody seen to have taken unnecessary and undue advantage of this crisis” warns President Uhuru Kenyatta.


“Hospitals and shopping malls are encouraged to provide soap, water, hand sanitizers and ensure that all their premises are regularly cleaned and disinfected. My administration is at the forefront of assessing, containing and managing this pandemic in our country…” President Kenyatta.



“I want to assure all Kenyans that the government will ensure that any patient who has come into contact with this disease will be given full support to ensure that they are able to recover…”  President Uhuru Kenyatta
