Opinions; No money for printing BBI documents and conduct referendum -Treasury

The government has said there is no money for printing BBI documents because it consists of thousands of papers. Just comes after a week after the treasury announced that there is no money for a referendum.


Political analysts explain why BBI end chaotic and be a burden to the taxpayer than the constitution.


The treasury CS Ukur Yattani said there are plans to merge the state agencies and parastatals to reduce the wage burden.


The first BBI document was not issued to the public. No ordinary citizen has seen the document. The first views were not presented to the public. How will the ordinary citizen be able to know that their second views were added in the first views?


Building bridges Initiative is now hitting menopause in the Kenya political scene. The BBI taskforce called out on Kenyans to read the document online when it is launched.



It was launched at Bomas of Kenya and up to today the document has not been posted. Rallies and campaigns are only meant when there are two parties opposing something.


Everybody is proposing the BBI. Senator Yusuf Hajji and his team went round to collect views from the citizens. Now, ODM leader Raila Odinga and his team are moving from one region to the other to collect views from the seating politicians and a section of communities or political party members to make regional statements. BBI has become a political tool rather than uniting the country.


Since 2018 when Raila Odinga met President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Kenyan economy has been bad. More companies have closed than before in the recent two years. What is next to the BBI after the rallies? It supposed to be a referendum.


How will people be able to make decisions if the report is not printed? Already the IEBC has said there is no allocation for the referendum. Is Kenya now more united because of BBI than before? The answer is NO.



After the few Rallies across the regions, one picture depicted was that one party was pioneering the report and political rejects from another party backing them up. What will the BBI taskforce do next if there is no money for Referendum, printing the document or facilitating the process?
