President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto acknowledged women for their vital role in society. The presidency vowed to continue empowering women in all aspects of governance.


" Women are vital players in the progress, stability and development of our society; they are engines of the enhancement of livelihoods and prime initiators of growth and poverty reduction, " Deputy President William Ruto said.


 " We will continue pushing for fresh ways to empower women, accelerate gender equality, and eliminate discrimination against them for their gainful participation in Kenya’s development plans, " he added.


 " Happy International Women’s Day to all the women, " President Uhuru Kenyatta congratulated women for the brave push for gender equality. He said when he was giving a speech at Beyond Zero half-marathon at Nyayo stadium with first lady Margaret Kenyatta.



" Women are vital people in society. My government will continue to empower women in all aspects of governance. Beyond zero is in my big four agenda in promoting universal health across the country, " President Uhuru Kenyatta said. " Happy International Women’s Day to all the women, " he concluded.
