Fear in Kilifi after Deputy Gideon Saburi tests positive of coronavirus. Kilifi county director of communications Mr James Mulei Muia revealed that the deputy governor Gideon Saburi had to quarantine after flying back from Germany.


The Deputy Governor did not listen to anyone and ignored all calls for self-quarantine. Governor Amason Kingi, Kilifi county speaker Jimmy Kahindi are among those who insisted the deputy governor to self-quarantine. The latest revelations show that he could not listen to anybody about his health. That forced the county government to involve the detectives.


The County officials are now in panic after he shook hands, hug and mingled with them in different meetings even meeting MCAs at Mazeras in a hotel.


The Kilifi county government officials, however, have tested, self-quarantine and waiting for results.  Some MCAs in the county are planning to impeach the deputy governor when he is released and charged by the government.


A video went viral of the communications director in an isolation mood. He said the county is now exposed to the coronavirus.


Speaking on a phone interview, Kilifi county governor Amason Kingi said they have identified the officials who come into contact with him and their friends who contacted them to be tested and self-quarantine.


" He defiled and travelled even after the promotional meeting in German was cancelled. When he came back, he also defiled to self-quarantine, "  Governor Amason Kingi said.

"It is my fourth day today, he made me go self-quarantine for the mandatory 14 days even after tested negative of coronavirus, " he said.

" Let the law take its cause. I have nothing much, " he added.
