Likoni residents want the government to distribute free face-masks at the Likoni ferry channel. They say the majority are not able to afford.

Coast Region Police Commander Rashid Yakub has proved police officers have loving humane side, despite an overwhelmingly negative public view after the Police brutality shown last week in the police service, after his inspiring act.

''We are civil servants, members of society are our bosses. We should be able to work for them and be friendly to them. Right now we have only one enemy - Coronavirus - we should all work together to fight this enemy," stated Yakub in response to escalating cases of police brutality.

The residents who usually use the ferries at the channel say due to congestion before boarding the ferries at the waiting bay usual can cause an outbreak.

Following the pictures that went viral of a mother and her daughter on a plastic bottle face-mask, the Kenya Ferry Service has been cautioned people on the waiting bay to have social distance.

However, the Ministry of Health says only those who are at risk or experiencing the symptoms should wear the masks.
