Mombasa county to start mass Coronavirus testing next week, 500 people to be tested daily

Mombasa county to start mass Coronavirus testing Monday, next week. The Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho has announced mass testing as a way to combat the virus.


People will be tested randomly for a week before moving to specific testing areas in all Mombasa sub-counties in Mombasa.


City health officials will be testing people in different areas, including residential areas and on different roads.


Governor Ali Hassan Joho said they have enough testing kits to start the exercise. 'It is necessary for every resident of the County to be tested, "


Each day, close to 500 residents are expected to be tested of Coronavirus at different locations before the officials increase of the testing number to 800 or 1000 people from 15 th April.


Mombasa county has set aside Sh 10 Million for acquiring more test kits, testing facilitation and health official safety gear.
