New Zealand beats Coronavirus. The country has now a single-digit COVID-19 new case from triple-digit daily.  The Government, however, maintains its not off the hook despite two months of challenges.

The New Zealand government had locked down the country for 36 days, did door to door three rounds testing in each home. The country is now back to building the economy where over 75% of businesses have been opened.

The government have helped companies to set up measures in combating the spread of the virus.

Over the past few days, newly diagnosed infections have been in single digits. And on Monday, New Zealand reported just one new case.

“That does give us confidence that we’ve achieved our goal of elimination, which never meant zero but it does mean we know where our cases are coming from,” Ashley Bloomfield, New Zealand’s Director General of Health said.

" There was only one case since April 1 where authorities were still investigating the source of infection, " the director added.

Monday was the final day of almost five weeks of strict level four lockdown measures, which New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern described as “the strictest constraints placed on New Zealanders in modern history.”
