Kilifi governor Amason Kingi visited Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) where he witnessed the process if testing the delivered samples. 


He said that the county government will fully support the institution as the only hope in the county.


However, the Governor added that the effort shown on the fight against the virus has been successful but not out of the woods yet.


"Today I visited the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI)- Kilifi, for a briefing on the fight against the virus in Kilifi County," he said.


" This is after the last two cases of Corona Virus infections fully recovered and were discharged from our Isolation Center," he added.

Kilifi county has no active case of the naval virus. The infected individuals have all recovered.


"At the moment, Kilifi does not have any active case under care in any of our health facilities,"


"Scientific results show that out of the 499 tested cases in Kilifi, the 6 cases that had confirmed positive have all recovered thanks," he added.


The Governor cautioned residents that the disease is still in the county. He urged people to continue following the government directives.


"However, this does not mean in any way that our County is out of the woods yet," he said. " We must continue observing the laid down protocols from both the National and County Government," he urged the residents.


The Governor appreciated KEMRI for their bold efforts in monitoring and offering treatment to the infected. " I wish to thank all patriotic Kilifians dedicated Medical officers and the KEMRI Staff, " he concluded.
