Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe urged people to be careful with themselves. The naval disease is for everyone. He said that unless people start to lock-down themselves but the Government will not lock-down the whole country.

" We have noted there are people not complying with the restricted movement requirement. I want to caution truck drivers smuggling people from one restricted area to another. Enforcement agencies are to deal with such issues not to become participants, " he said.


" A group of people travelled from Nairobi in a private vehicle posing to be attending a funeral equipped with an empty coffin. These people managed to come from Nairobi to Homa Bay where they were arrested and taken to quarantine. The driver of that vehicle is now positive, " he stated.

To those in quarantine centres, you have kept the promise except a few who staggered. We are aware that some have offered a bribe to get out of quarantine. In Mandera, some bribed their way out of quarantine. They and those who let them will face the full force of the law, " he said.


" This is not the time to confuse our people or engage in public theatrics.  Another 84 years old herbalist contracted the virus because he said he can treat it. We advise Kenyans to get factual information from the Ministry of Health and WHO, " he concluded.
