A governor launches mud houses project in his county worthy sh 20 Million. The project caused a stir online while other raising eyebrows on how the project funds were allocated.

Nevertheless, politicians across the world from the same cloth, the Kenyan ones are from the special breed.

Their ability to launch anything and everything within their sight are fabulous.

Vihiga finalizes on sh 20 Million mud housing project with each house costing sh 100,000.

The project has now finalized with 200 mud houses that were set to alleviate residents who used to stay in grass-thatched houses.


In October 2016, Vihiga Housing Project and commissioned by Governor Moses Akaranga became the laughing stock of the county and the country in general after he was pictured proudly opening some newly constructed mud-walled houses.


The houses said to have cost some Sh20 million and meant for the poor across the county. The houses were so ugly that most wondered if that county had construction planners.


It was said each structure swindled a whopping Sh 100,000.


Akaranga and his media handlers did not see anything wrong with the commissioning ceremony as they proudly shared pictures of the houses and launching occasion on the county Facebook page.
